SP.06.09 Revision to the Bylaws, Part D.6 – Committee on Committees
In 2002, academic professionals were given voting membership on eleven Senate standing committees, as well as approval for the Council of Academic Professionals (CAP) chair to act as a liaison for academic professionals to the Senate Executive Committee (SEC). The proposed change would bring an academic professional member to the Committee on Committees in order to provide a conduit from CAP for nominations.
The Senate Committee on University Statutes and Senate Procedures and the UIUC Council of Academic Professionals recommend approval of the following revisions to the Bylaws. Text to be deleted is indicated in [square brackets] and text to be added is underscored.
PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE BYLAWS, PART D.6
The Committee shall consist of:
- Five senators who are members of the faculty electorate, no more than one of whom may be from the same college, school, division, or institute; [and]
- Three senators who are members of the student electorate, no more than one of whom may be from the same college, school, division, or institute, and at least one of whom shall be an undergraduate and at least one of whom shall be a graduate or professional student[.]; and
- One academic professional member.
