SP.01.03 Proposed Revision to the Bylaws Part D.6.(b) - Committee on Campus Operations

BACKGROUND
The Senate Committee on Campus Operations (CO) has frequently met with Director of Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Jack Dempsey, and has profited greatly from his advice and counsel. Because of this, CO and its chair, Haydn Chen, requested that the Director of O&M or a designee be made an ex officio member of the committee. The amendment to the Senate Bylaws proposed here accomplishes exactly this. No other changes in the duties or composition of the committee are proposed.

RECOMMENDATION
The Committee on University Statutes and Senate Procedures recommends approval of the revision to the Bylaws, Part D.6.(b). Text to be deleted is indicated in [square brackets] and text to be added is underscored.

PROPOSED REVISION TO THE BYLAWS, PART D.6.(b)

(b) Membership
The Committee shall consist of:
1. Eight faculty members,
2. Two student members,
3. The Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Human Resources or the Vice-
Chancellor's designee (ex officio), [and]
4. The Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance or the Assistant Vice
President's designee (ex officio), and
5. The Director of Operations and Maintenance or the Director's designee (ex officio).
