SC.00.08 Deadline for Filing Nominations for the Faculty Advisory Committee

BACKGROUND
The germane section of Article II, Section 4, of the University Statutes states: "... at each campus the faculty shall elect a Faculty Advisory Committee of nine members from the faculty, three of whom shall be elected each year for three-year terms commencing on the first day of the academic year after their election. "Any member of the Faculty Advisory Committee electorate shall be eligible for membership on the committee except those who hold an administrative appoint-ment. Any eligible person may be nominated as a committee member by a peti-tion signed by three members of the electorate and filed with the Clerk or Secre-tary of the Senate. The deadline for filing shall be set by each Campus Senate. ..." Nomination forms will be prepared for mailing on Friday, February 11, 2000.

RECOMMENDATION
The Senate Council recommends that the deadline for filing nominations for the three-year term beginning August 21, 2000, be set at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2000.
