The following 1999-2000 Academic Calendar is formulated in accordance with
AC.97.01, Synopsis of Policies Governing the Academic Calendar at UIUC

, adopted March 17, 1997.

1. Definition of the Academic Year

The 1999-2000 academic year shall commence on August 21, 1999, and conclude on May 20, 2000.

2. Fall Semester 1999
	Instruction Begins		Wednesday, August 25
	Labor Day			Monday, September 6 (no classes)
	Thanksgiving Vacation	5 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, through 
					Sunday, November 28

	Instruction Resumes		7 a.m., Monday, November 29
	Instruction Ends		Friday, December 10
	Reading Day			Saturday, December 11
	Final Examinations		Monday, December 13 through 
					Saturday, December 18

3. Spring Semester 2000
	M. L. King Day 		Monday, January 17 (no classes)
	Instruction Begins		Tuesday, January 18
	Spring Vacation			1 p.m., Saturday, March 11 through 
					Sunday, March 19

	Instruction Resumes		7 a.m., Monday, March 20
	Instruction Ends		Wednesday, May 3
	Reading Day			Thursday, May 4
	Final Examinations		Friday, May 5 through
					Friday, May 12
	Commencement		Sunday, May 14
Summer Sessions 2000
